THANK YOU for a Good Movie!

I finally caught up with THANK YOU FOR SMOKING tonight. So far, this is probably the best film I've seen this year (although that's not saying much). Filled with lot of very biting satire, it's surprising that the film got made in a city where product placement drives production. Great casting and performances all around, with the possible exception of Mrs. Cruise, who (as in BATMAN BEGINS) was playing a part that required more maturity than she can show.

Definitely recommended.

In baseball, the team that was referred to on ESPN as "the worst team to ever make it to the World Series" won game 4 tonight, taking a 3-1 lead over Detriot. David Eckstein, whom I loved as an Angel, got 4 hits for St. Louis after starting the series 0 for 11.
